Employees of Daily Hoy will receive settlement payments calculated on August month-end-closing
Yesterday was scheduled to be culminated the inventory of assets and chattels of Edimpres (Daily Hoy), which will be sold to meet obligations of the company with 172 workers, social security and company suppliers.
The liquidator appointed by the Superintendency of Companies, Edith Luque, said that at the meeting that took place on Wednesday with all the workers there was ease and confidence in the process that will be credited. “They were reported that they will no longer labor and the settlement payment will be calculated on August month-end-closing”, she said.
Luque explained that the Civil Code establishes that workers will be payed in first order, after a bankruptcy will be done where the IESS and suppliers will participate.
Carlos Marx Carrasco, Minister of Labor Relations, announced that he expects to meet today in Quito with Edimpres workers to know their legal situation and give them advise to “obtain a new job”.
The liquidator of Edimpres expects to deliver a report to the Administration of Companies in about three months.
