Correa raises tax on ¨harmful consuption¨

The President Rafael Correa raised yesterday, August 29, analyze a tax on “harmful consumption” primarily aimed at cigarette, alcohol and “junk food”. He argued that these items will go to the attention of those who become sick by these bad eating habits and should turn to for medical care.
In his speech Correa warned of possible reactions to the issue. “But you will see that when propose these things shall come which never did anything for the country to deceive, that State Controller, filling tax …” he said.
The President argued that to improve the health of Ecuadorians must have new habits of life, work and even consumption.
