Employees of the media wait for competency certification
In July, occupational licenses for media workers, as photographers, cameramen and sound engineers would be delivered. In September will be the opening of the technic and technology careers to comply with the provision on the professionalism of people that work in the media.
According to the sixteenth transitional of the Communication Law, the state gives professional workers six years for getting a diploma.
According to the member of the Council Regulation (Cordicom), Paulina Mogrovejo, there is a demand of between 1,000 and 1,100 people that would choose technical careers of two years of study and the technologic careers that will last three.
These classes will be imparted at the University of Arts, located in Guayaquil, and in pedagogical institutes.
There are critics made by the guild of photographers. Sebastián Crespo, representative of the Ecuadorian Photographers group, said: “Things are not clear. They explained that the new technologies are just being created so they become operational in 2015; and certificates would be delivered to us late this year”, Crespo said.
