The political movement Equity, Progress and Order (Equipo for its Spanish acronym) lead by Fabricio Correa, older brother of the Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa, did not make it to the presidential elections, after failing to overcome the 1,5% of signatures for its registration.
According to the counsellor Juan Pablo Pozo, EQUIPO did not reach the 157,946 signatures required. The movement of Fabricio Correa only obtained 89, 502 valid signatures and 172,843 non-valid, thus ending out of the electoral race by 68,000 signatures.
Finally, Fabricio Correa said through his Twitter account that they presented 400.000 signatures to the organization. “They are afraid that we enter in the field.” AV
