EU Asks Russia and China a Firm Position Against Syria
Today the European Union (EU) complained that the Council of Human Rights (HRC) of the UN adopts a firm stance condemning Syria. China and Russia must follow such position, which states the immediate rejection of using the force to achieve the fall the Bashar al-Assad regime.
Denmark foreign affairs minister, Villy Sovndal, informed the press that the European Union will maintain the pressure over the Governments of China and Moscow so they “assume their responsibility in the situation of Syria the way it is.”
Minutes later the Russian vice minister of foreign affairs, Gennady Gatilov stated that his country cannot support “the attempts to transform the Council into a tool of political pressure,” in a place where countries are divided between good guys and bad guys.
Meanwhile in the diplomatic field tense deliberations are given regarding the course of action the international community must take to solve the crisis in Syria. (AV)
