EU Lifted Taxes Sanctions on Libyan Companies
About 28 oil bodies, banking and Libyan port companies have been exempted from taxes, the European Union (EU), in order to cooperate with the country’s economic recovery.
This provision, which allows the release of the assets of these entities within the Community, shall enter into force tomorrow with its publication in the official journal of the EU.
Catherine Ashton representative of EU Foreign Policy said the “goal is to provide resources to the Interim Government and the Libyan people and help the economy to return to work,” said the note high and added that the EU Union “has acted quickly in the light of developments “in the Libyan soil, showing the determination of the Union to do” everything possible “for the Libyan people.
