Every mobile number in Ecuador will have 10 digits

Since September 30, mobile numbers in Ecuador will have a tenth digit. Each user must add the number 9, after the traditional 0, in every number of their phonebook. This measure aims to expand to 100 million mobile phone lines, since currently there are 16, 2 million.
Santiago Placencia, a student at Technical University of Loja created an application called “Mas 9“, this alternative will help all equipments that meet the requirement of allowing Internet connection.
The “Mas 9” will automatically update the cell’s agenda. The user must send a message to 999 with the letter M, then click Update and that’s it.
On iPhones, the application can be used from equipments running the older version, to its latest which is the version 6.0. (JP)
