Posted On 28 Mar 2013
The attacker of FC Barcelona and the captain of argentina, Lionel Messi, was decorated by the President of Bolivia, Evo Morales, a day before the party and also minutes after the draw in La Paz for the qualifiers of the World Cup of Brazil 2014.
The Argentine received the President with excessive fatigue in the Hall of the visiting dressing room.
Morales had declared “fan” of his game and took the opportunity to honor him, since he considers it “the most outstanding soccer player on the planet”.
Before the party, Evo delivered a poncho to the ‘Flea’ and he gave him his t-shirt with his autograph.
The distinction, according to Reuters, unleashed a wave of protests in media and social networks, especially, recalling that Messi had very harsh expressions against soccer practice in cities at high-altitude La Paz, which is 3,600 metres above sea level. While the Bolivian Football Federation said that the award caused unrest in the local selection.
