Damascus assailed by explosions

Today a car bomb exploded in central Damascus, Syria. This attack comes a day after activists reported numerous deaths across the country despite the fragile ceasefire.

So far the blast claimed the lives of three people in the Marjeh district of the capital. State TV is blaming an “armed terrorist group” for the explosion. The State news agency SANA informed that the bomb was placed under the car of an unsuspecting man, who was among the injured.

The blast came after the Local Coordination Committees, an opposition activist network stated that since last Monday the violence that killed 54 civilians and five soldiers across the country. (AV)
