Extremely high UV radiation in four provinces of the country
The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (Inamhi) warned that for this Monday, May 8, 2023, ultraviolet radiation will be extremely high in the provinces of Pichincha, Imbabura, Santa Elena and a large part of Manabí.
This means that citizens must protect themselves from the sun, especially between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., when the effects of the sun’s rays are greatest.
If you must go out and be exposed to the sun, remember to bring a hat, an umbrella and apply sunscreen about 10 minutes before exposure.
In provinces such as Carchi, Cotopaxi, Bolívar, Los Ríos, Guayas, El Oro, Esmeraldas, Sucumbíos, Orellana and Pastaza, the index is expected to be very high, so it is recommended to avoid exposing yourself to the sun for long periods and the use of a hat. , glasses and sunscreen. In the remaining provinces of the country, radiation will be high.
Other recommendations for this type of radiation conditions are: wear long-sleeved, cotton clothing and avoid, if possible, exposure for long periods of time.
