Fabricio Correa went to the Prosecutor’s Office for false signatures
Fabricio Correa, brother of President Rafael Correa and leader of the Equidad, Progreso i Orden movement (Equipo), yesterday went to the Prosecutor’s Office of Guayas to give his testimony about the case of false signatures.
Correa’s statements were given after the vice president of the National Electoral Council (CNE for its Spanish acronym), Paul Salazar, denounced due to the forgery of his signature, which appeared registered in Equipo.
Equipo is not registered in the CNE because it did not complete the minimum required number of support signatures (157,000) to obtain legal status and be able to participate in the 2013 elections.
Correa says the complaint that was filed against Equipo lacks of valid evidence and witnesses, “All other movements entered, only Equipo stood outside and Concertacion is collateral damage,” he said. (MZ)
