Facebook page Crudo Ecuador: “this is the end of the line …”

The Crudo Ecuador facebook page, which has publishes images that criticize President Rafael Correa and other political in social media, announced this Thursday February 19 it will not continue with this activity. This happens after the administrator of the page received an alleged threat in which his family was mentioned.

“Well gentlemen, this is the end of the line. Thanks to everyone who morally supported me in this project, but I can not expose my family against this mafia. I hope you understand me,” published the Crudo Ecuador page on Facebook and attached a link of the Fundamedios web site, which mentions the apparent threat anonymous he received.

The NGO (Non Governmental Organization) stated that “the administrator of the satirical Facebook page Crudo Ecuador” received a threat “thatattempts on his physical integrity and that of his family. Strangers sent an anonymous note with a bouquet of flowers where they identified himwith names and between the lines warn that they are watching him.”

In its publication, Crudo Ecuador attached a photograph of the bouquet and note which reads: “… How good to have the opportunity to greet and congratulate you for such a beautiful family (…) with satisfaction I must confess that it´s a pleasure for me you are in the beloved province of Guayas, enjoying your well deserved holidays, what will bring a moment of relaxation, which means a parentheses between so much stress yourdemanding but ‘not so wise activities,’ believe me you will always have our interest or attention, while your courage lasts…”
