This morning the Argentine writer and singer Facundo Cabral died in Guatemala City after being attacked by a group of gunmen on his way to La Aurora International Airport.
Cabral, 74, who last week had given several concerts, suffered a direct attack against him made by gunmen who used assault rifles. Eight shots impacted into Cabral’s body.
As reported, the police spokesman Donald Gonzalez said he found a vehicle, apparently involved in the attack, abandoned on an exit highway on the way to El Salvador.
The attack also wounded the businessman who hired the singer, Henry Farina, who was taken to a hospital in serious condition.
