The ashes of Gabriel García Márquez would remain in Mexico or somewhere in his native Aracataca in Colombia

After being hospitalized for pneumonia, the Colombian writer Gabriel García Márquez, died in Mexico City at 87 years old, surrounded by his loved ones. His family has mourned privately this weekend, without even deciding where the ashes will remain the author.

José Gabriel Ortiz, Colombian Ambassador in Mexico, said about this: `Mourning is theirs, grief is theirs and they are the ones in his heart, his wife and their children, they will make that decision´
