“Feriado” will participate in German film festival
The next Film Festival of Berlin to be held from 6 to 16 February will include the participation of the film directed and written by Diego Araujo, “Feriado”, the first local film in being part of famous European festival.
The film will participate in the “Generation” category, characterized by accepting proposals from young people without excluding other ages. 60 films (shorts and features), are within the category competing for the Crystal Bear award.
“Feriado” is based on Juan Pablo, a 16 year old boy falls in love with Juano on a trip to the family farm in the Ecuadorian Andes during the Carnival holiday of 1999, which coincides with a bank holiday dates and the crisis financial. With Juano, a rebellious boy from the nearby town, Juan Pablo opens to a new universe, liberating, that will force Juan Pablo to define himself opens.
Araujo has exhibited the film on international festivals and exhibitions at Cuba and Mexico, among others. He has received awards from the Tribeca Film Institute and the National Film Board.
