Yesterday afternoon, the Ecuadorian capital was declared a state of emergency operational product of the severe fires that have plagued the city throughout the week.
This morning, three new fires were reported over the Guápulo the Ungüí hill, besides already started on the hill Auqui, from three days ago.
So far, there have been around 63 new forest fires of 2054 that have been filed since June 1 in Quito, destroying more than 1,154 hectares of forest. The wind, thick vegetation and heat are factors that influence the spread of fire
Fire Department contingent from Tungurahua, Baños, Pelileo, Patate, Mocha, Cevallos and Quero have joined to help put out the flames, they become uncontrollable. Meanwhile, firefighters Guayaquil traveled Quito were sent to help quell the fire in the capital.
Hundreds of public and private companies with tankers have been requested to carry water to consume and to put the fire to the sectors where there are outbreaks of fire.
In this emergency, joined 13th Military Brigade of Pichincha, the National Police and the Metropolitan Police, distributed in all sectors where there are fires.
