First Confirmed H1N1 Case in Azuay

A young man from Chordeleg became the first confirmed case of H1N1 in the province of Azuay.
The H1N1 positive patient, 29, has been in the hospital for 10 days. At first, he was in the Social Security Institute Hospital and he is currently in a private clinic.

The Health Department of Azuay  sent samples of 15 patients with severe pneumonia at Izquieta Perez hospital, 12 cases have been discarded. The health department also activated epidemiological alert between public and private clinics since this weekend.

Julio Molina, director of Health of the province, reported that there are 2645 doses for the treatment of the H1N1 virus.
