anecacao-ecuadortimes-ecuadornewsIn an interview with daily El Universo, Juan Pablo Zuniga Orellana, new president of the National Association of Cocoa Exporters, talks about the impacts and strategies to keep markets and restore production.

Zuniga explains that climate changes caused the emergence of pests such as Monilla in plantations, which is affectin us more this year.

On exports, he states that the first two months a fall of about 18% was recorded. “This can leads us to have about 40 thousand tons less at the end of the year, which would be about $ 100 million.

He clarified they will continue to supply all markets, despite the decline in cocoa production.
