Istanbul, Baku, Tokyo, Doha and Madrid presented their candidacy to host the 2020 Olympic Games after the International Olympic Committee (IOC) gave a deadline ended last night.

The reports submitted by these cities for the first phase will be analyzed by experts appointed by the IOC. Next, they will decide which cities were accepted as candidates. Once chosen, they will produce a second report submitted to the IOC in January 2013 and as the last step will be visited by the Evaluation Commission, before the IOC announces the election of the city selected the September 7, 2013 in Buenos Aires.

Rome withdrew its candidacy after the Italian Government considered as irresponsible aim to organize the Games when currently facing an economic crisis.
