The agriculture, breeding, floriculture, fishing and construction sectors have new standards since past thursday 13, that regulate work schedules, the employees hiring and their affiliation to the Ecuadorian Institute of Social Security.
Workers in the fields of flowers will work from Monday to Friday seven hours a day; and on Saturday, five. This day is recognised a 25% surcharge.
For fishermen, the working day will depend on time the fishing lasts, however, the captain is responsible for the staff to enjoy rest periods.
For the farmers and ranchers, the schedule is free according to the needs of each sector.
In the construction area it is an obligation to register the constructions and the workers on the website of the Ministry of labour relations.
For this purpose, the regulation lays down within 180 days.
