Flu epidemic grows in the U.S.
United States is facing one of the strongest cases of flu in recent times, about to reach epidemic levels with high chances that extends to Europe, Asia and other regions. The state of New York is suffering its worst flu outbreak in years, around 2.884 people have been hospitalized with the flu in New York, so on Saturday, Governor Andrew Cuomo declared a public health emergency. Pharmacists in New York were authorized to sell vaccines to those over 18 years old.
According to the Department of Health of New York, so far, more than 20.000 cases have been reported this season, far more than in the 2011-2012 season, when they were 4.400.
