Foreign Minister Patiño travels to London for 2nd Anniversary of asylum to Assange
Foreign Minister Ricardo Patino, said Friday he will travel to London with occasion of the second anniversary of the asylum that the Ecuadorian government granted on August 16, 2012 to WikiLeaks founder, Julian Assange Australian, held at the Embassy of Ecuador in the British capital.
In the short message posted on his Twitter account, the foreign minister also called on journalists who have not made common cause the freedom of Assange.
“Road to London during the 2nd. Asylum year of Julian Assange. How much more we should expect journalists to demand their freedom?” Patino asked in his message on the social network.
Assange has spent four years in captivity since his arrest in London in 2010 at the request of Swedish prosecutors, who claims him for alleged sex offenses which he denies.
