Ecuadormews:
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a diplomatic communication to Colombia and Bolivia to report on the expansion of operations areas to these two countries through authorization to the company Avianca Ecuador S.A to carry out the routes between Guayaquil and Quito with Bogota and Santa Cruz.
According to the information disseminated by the Foreign Ministry, the measure implies that the airline can operate up to seven weekly flights with Airbus A318, A319 and A320 aircraft, once the company complies with the regulatory requirements that Colombia and Bolivia demand.
This measure is implemented as an incentive for the tourism sector and commerce. Once the notification is made, Avianca Ecuador S.A may execute its commercial air rights granted in the framework of Decision 582 of the Andean Community on air transport.
The Ecuadorian Government, through executive decree 256, decided to apply the policy of ‘Open Skies’ for air transport, which is expected to generate growth in the fields of trade, manufacturing, agriculture and, especially, tourism , in addition to increasing the inflow of foreign currency, income from taxes and employment.
