The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported this through a press release, on Monday November 30, 2015.

This was resolved after that in November 26, the State portfolio reported that the Ecuadorian Government established the tourism visa requirement for the entry of Cuban citizens to Ecuador from December 1s.

The aim is to “protect them from abuse and violations of their rights that may result from the risky mobility and unscrupulous people traffickers.” This decision was communicated to the countries of the Central American Integration System (SICA) in addition to Mexico, Colombia and Cuba.

The authorities of human mobility of Ecuador will automatically grant a tourist visa to Cuban citizens who have purchased their ticket until the 26th of November, 2015. Any subsequent acquisition shall be subject to new regulations enforced by the Ecuadorian government.
