Gabriela Rivadeneira promotes the medicinal use of marijuana

The National Assembly will initiate the debate of the Code of Health in the coming weeks within which the proposal of the president of the legislature Gabriela Rivadeneira_ of declaring marijuana legal for therapeutic use is contemplated.

She claims that a control body to monitor the sale and development of medicinal products containing cannabidiol will be created. At her discretion this would help cancer and HIV patients.

“The national health authority will be the one that will have to generate all the mechanism, methodology and appropriate procedures to maintain absolute control.

This substance will be sold exclusively in authorized pharmacies,” Rivadeneira said.
