Gadhafi’s Compound Under Heavy Fire
A Heavy fighting has started near the compound of Colonel Moammar Gadhafi’s in Tripoli on Tuesday. This occurred hours later that Saif al Islam, the Libyan leader’s son appeared to thwart rebel claims that he had been captured.
The confrontations between the rebels and supporters of Gadhafi have taken the war to the streets of Tripoli. A NATO spokesman informed that the forces of Gadhafi have no intention of giving up their aggressive actions. To support their fight the rebels started to organize the so-called Tripoli Brigades since June.
The men of these paramilitary forces have strong family and social ties from the city, afterwards they are trained in the Western Mountains.
According to journalists of Reuters, the rebels have entered into the residence of the Libyan leader in Tripoli. Reports from the Pentagon informed that most of Tripoli is controlled by the rebels. (AV)
