Galapagos Inaugurated Free Wi-Fi for the Entire Islands
Posted On 26 Jan 2011
Several institutions have joined in a project called Redgal to allow Galapagos to have free Wi-Fi (wireless internet) in all the areas.
The distance from mainland causes difficulties in communications, for this reason the project uses new generation wireless networks to provide internet to all the islands in order to improve communications between the islands and provinces.
The community can navigate freely in any part of the island. The biggest beneficiaries are the students, because this resource will increase their intellectual abilities. Today, the governing council opened the system that is already operating in the province, making it the only region of the hole country with free wireless internet.
