Galo Lara has a criminal record in the United States
According to a report by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Home Office confirmed that the former assemblyman of Sociedad Patriotica (SP), Galo Lara has a criminal record in the United States.
Last August, Lara was sentenced to ten years in prison for his alleged involvement in a triple homicide committed in the canton Quinsaloma (Los Rios). However, he fled from Ecuador and is currently seeking political asylum in Panama after saying he is under political persecution.
According to the FBI report, Lara was reportedly arrested on May 22, 1991 by officers of the Hialeah County, Florida, where he was charged with the crime of theft at home.
Subsequently, according to the Ministry, Lara was brought before the courts of Miami. Before this revelation, Pedro Granja, Lara’s attorney, said through his Twitter account that it has asked the United States a certificate of his criminal record.
