General Motors plans to sell an electric version of the gasoline Spark in the United States. It is expected that the electric model will be sold in the rest of the world by 2013.

This vehicle has nothing to do with the current offer of the electric vehicles of GM, the Chevrolet Volt. The Spark EV will work thanks to batteries manufactured by A123 Systems made in Boston Massachusetts.

GM decided to build the Spark EV to cover the demand of populated cities, especially in Europe and Asia.  GM has not made any public details on how many Spark EV plans to sell or where would they be sold. (AV)
