Gerson Almeida and Martha Villafuerte, from the ‘pro-life’ presidential binomial, registered their candidacies in the CNE

Accompanied by a group of supporters, Gerson Almeida and Martha Villafuerte went to the National Electoral Council (CNE) to register their candidacies for the Presidency and Vice-presidency of the Republic, sponsored by the United Ecuadorian movement , founded by Edwin Moreno, brother of the president, Lenin Brown.

They did so on the afternoon of October 1, and they call themselves the “pro-life binomial.”
“We have a legal framework that governs Ecuador. As a pro-life binomial we come to ratify our conviction for life and we open our arms to those who want to join, ”Almeida said in an address after his registration.
On the morning of this Thursday, the documentation for the registration, the duo of the political party SUMA , integrated by Guillermo Cely and Verónica Sevilla , also entered .
The application registration period ends on October 7 at 6:00 p.m. Compliance with this requirement is carried out in the national delegation of the Electoral Council, as well as in the 24 Provincial Electoral Boards and the Foreign Board.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the agency enabled its technological systems so that the process can be carried out virtually. (I)
