This morning, Fernando Muslera, Uruguayan goalkeeper admitted he committed foul against Ecuadorian striker Christian Benítez.

Muslera, said that he believed the Paraguayan referee Carlos Amarilla, would charge the fault.

“Honestly, he could charge it. There were a smash, there were contact, not down, because I went straight to the ball, but my arm extended up and I felt I touched him. But the judge decided not to charge it. Could have been, or not,” said the goalkeeper.

“And I swear I thought I will be drop out of the game. Furthermore knowing how the referee is. Luckily in that play he was good, but knowing his kind of a character, I thought I would be dropped (…)”.
