Government gives a shock to the contraband of agricultural products

During the first year of management, the Government recovered $ 1,224,459 for agricultural products that were smuggled into the southern and northern borders. In the operations carried out in 2017, products such as onions, rice, fruits, potatoes, dried grains and other foodstuffs were seized.
The total amount was $ 553,155. As of May of this year, 3,805 bags of rice were seized, amounting to $ 119,117, in addition to 17,679 sacks of onion equivalent to $ 454,900.
In the operations, 5,003 bags of corn were also seized, amounting to $ 85,866. Also 252 bags of potatoes that had a value of $ 3,990 and in 648 baskets of arrears for $ 7,431.
In total, between January and May of 2018 $ 671,304 were seized. This result is part of the National Anti-Smuggling and Customs Fraud Plan, in which 21 entities intervene and which began in 2017. (I)
