Government Published Holiday Calendar Until 2015
This morning, the official online newspaper, ‘El Ciudadano’ reported that the Ecuadorian Government published the calendar of holidays through 2015.
The statement determines that celebrations or ceremonies on May 24th, August 10th, and October 9th, will be held on the exact date, however, the holiday will move to next Friday and will be paid mandatory.
This year, the holiday of October 9 (Independence of Guayaquil), will move to Friday 12 October. In 2013, the rest of today’s date is scheduled for Friday 11 and in 2014; the holiday will be moved to Friday October 1th.
Workday on Monday and Tuesday of Carnival in 2013, 2014, and 2015 will be suspended, just for public employees. The work day will eventually be recovered, without penalty, on Saturday subsequent to suspension.
On December 24th and 31st of 2012 (both are on Monday), will be declared Holiday Bridge and working time will be recovered on Saturday 5 and 12, 2013, for the public sector. On Friday, December 26th of 2014 should be back on Saturday, March 20th. Bridge will also be holiday on Friday January 2nd, 2015 and work will be recovered on January 10 th, 2015.
