Government reaffirms his support of USD 750 million for Quito´s subway
The Mayor of Quito Mauricio Rodas, announced that the City “recovered” the non-reimbursable USD 15 million granted for the units purchase of the public transport system and the support of USD 750 million for the Quito subway was reaffirmed, after meeting yesterday with President Rafael Correa.
However, about the possibility that the amount would be increased after the proposals of the consortia exceeded U.S. $ 1 500 million stipulated in the initial project (made by the previous Mayor), Rodas said that the proposals of the companies will be first analyzed.
On resources for public transport, Rodas said that is good news for the city, and that money will be used to improve the transportation system, by order of the President.
Furthermore, other issues were discussed such as: Projects in the Historic Center, government platforms and lines of credit from the Government to the Municipality of Quito.
