Acting Superintendent of Telecommunications, Claudio Rosas Castro (left) and CEO of DIRECTV, Jose Daniel Gomez

The Superintendency of Telecommunications (Supertel) and Directv signed an agreement to spread the news on the damage caused to the State due to the use of non-authorized equipment in the TV pay-per-view irregular service.

The measure seeks to eliminate unfair competition and evasion of taxes in accordance with Article 422 of the Criminal Code.

Article 422

“Those who offer, provide or market telecommunications services without being legally entitled, under concession, authorization, license, permit, agreement or any other form of administrative contract, shall be punished with imprisonment from two to five years.” MZ
