Government Wants to Patent the ’30-S ‘ as a Trademark
Vinicio Alvarado, secretary of the Administration took steps in the Ecuadorian Institute of Intellectual Property (IEPI for it Spanish acronym) in order to patent the phrase “Prohibido Olvidar” (forbidden forget) and the abbreviations “30S” and “30-S” for the exclusive use of the Ecuadorian government.
According to the law of IEPI who object to the registration of these marks, you can do the same institute until Thursday December 15 this year. If no one contests, only the President of the Republic may use them in “advertising, business management, commercial and office work.”
