Group anticipates popular consultation of the Mayor of Guayaquil
A group of neighborhood leaders and former employees of public companies grouped in the Citizen Observatory of Public Services and Citizens Organizations Coalition for Guayaquil, presented a proposal of popular consultation to the city on Wednesday, February 4.
The query of this group comprises 10 questions related to changes in municipal transport service (Metrovía), the withdrawal of the concession of water and sewerage services, the deconcentration of the municipal services and the participaton of more women in the Metropolitan Police staff.
This proposal of local consultation stepped forward the one lead by the mayor of Guayaquil, Jaime Nebot.
On the other hand, Nebot pronounced on the proposal of urban transporters of Guayaquil, of including an additional question in the query promoted by the municipality, which inquires if this entity should or should not assume the transportation service on its full. “Let the people decide it, we are denouncing this political trick that they want to do,” said the Mayor.
