Groups in Ecuador defend Assange

Representatives of Latin American and Spanish social groups expressed today, in a protest, their support over Julian Assange’s Political Asylum Request.
Protesters gathered outside the government palace in Quito following a convention attended by groups such as Women in Red, Diabluma and Councils of Colombia, among others.
London Diplomatic Authorities sent through the Ambassador, Ana Alban, the reasons why they consider that Ecuador should not grant asylum to Assange.
The British government would not allow extradition to a country where a citizen can be sentenced to death. (MZ)
