Guayaquil and Samborondón suffered blackouts

Posted On 17 Sep 2013

Yesterday, a surprising blackout in different sectors of northern Guayaquil, surprised the inhabitants near 19:15. Neighborhoods like Alborada, Urdesa, La Atarazana, Los Ceibos, Kennedy, and avenues Plaza Dañín and Francisco de Orellana, were affected by the lack of electricity that lasted a long time.

The Electric Company of Guayaquil explained the reasons for the blackout through its Twitter account. The organization blamed the high winds that hit a pole tensioner onside the courts of the Sports Federation.

By this same social network, several ordinary citizens expressed their discontent and denounced the lack of electricity in their sectors.

On the other hand, Samborondón also registered  a blackout at 20:00. The National Electricity Corporation, which supplies this sector, said there was an incidental failure in the subtransmission line.
