Guayaquil Celebrated its Festivities in the Streets
Parades, floats and folk groups parades marched today through the main streets in Guayaquil, which celebrates 476 years of foundation.
The festivities continued today with different parades. The Navy and Guayaquil Más Ciudad, with floats, parades, marching bands and cheerleaders passed trough different streets of the city, a tradition that has been held for 11 years. The parade has become one of the highlights of the celebrations for the anniversary of the founding process. This year’s theme was Guayaquil, its importance in history and geography.
Nine floats, 12 meters long by 3 m wide, showed the characteristics of the city, as well as different characters and representative sites. The floats were classified by topics such as: Guayaquil glorious patriot, which was the first to parade with a bust of founder Francisco de Orellana and other historical figures such as Vicente Rocafuerte, they can be seen on the slopes of Cerro Santa Ana.
