Guayaquil Civic Board Opposes to Referendum
Today, the Civic board of Guayaquil presented a legal protection resource beside the Court of Guayas in order to stop the questions qualification process for the referendum, because the popular consultation promoted by President Rafael Correa “violates the constitutional rights of citizens” according to Miguel Palacios, Civic board Chief.
In the document is also included a requisition to nominate delegates besides the Citizen Participation Council in order to continue with the selection process of the National Judicial Council.
Additionally, the President of the Guayas Court of Justice, Maria Leonor Jiménez, said that they as courts of the country will hold meetings to present their position rejecting the content of the questions related to the reform of the judicial system.
