Guayaquil Will Have Full Coverage of Potable Water

Rafael Correa said yesterday in a radio link that Guayaquil has more than 80% of drinking water and 76% of sewer system.
Guayaquil´s Mayor rejected the president’s statements and said that according to a report maded by the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing (Miduvi) and the Comptroller, since 2009 the city had 93% water and 88% of drains.
Jaime Nebot said that at the end of 2011 that the entire city will have 100% coverage of safe drinking water, and at the end of 2013 whole Guayaquil will have sewerage coverage.
The Mayor questioned the President’s actions and accused him of doing nothing to improve the country’s security.
