Posted On 05 Apr 2017
Guillermo Lasso called for serenity in his speech given today, in which he presents the documents that support the challenge of the results announced yesterday by the president of the National Electoral Council, Juan Pablo Pozo who announced the triumph of the binomial Moreno-Glas after the 99, 66% of votes counted.
“If there is no justice there is no peace and if there is no peace there is no serenity, but in circumstances like today where there is no justice, no peace, we have to keep calm so that the voice of the truth is heard and not is not confused with noises that only encourage the attitude of the violent ones,” he said from Guayaquil.
“As a Democrat, I would have wanted to be in the situation of accepting results, but it is not possible, because they do not act with the truth and because the popular will has been violated.”
I will not betray you, I will not leave you alone, Lasso said in reference to the hundreds of Ecuadorians who from the night of Sunday, April 2 remain vigilant outside the delegations of the Electoral Council in different cities of Ecuador.
