Posted On 22 Feb 2017

The candidate for the presidency of the CREO-SUMA alliance, Guillermo Lasso, yesterday asked his followers to remain in vigil, but “peacefully” during the vote counting at the National Electoral Council.
“My request to the Ecuadorian people is to remain in vigil, but keeping the peace. Let’s not get into provocation,” Lasso wrote in his Twitter account.
In his social network, the candidate stressed: “We are going to take care of ALL THE VOTES.”
“Today I will be with the Ecuadorian people in the streets. I will be in Quito in the afternoon and then in Guayaquil,” he added, pointing out: “Today we have to promote the greatest unity in Ecuador. The unity of 61% of Ecuadorians who do not want the continuism.”
The candidate added: “We will dialogue with all Ecuadorians, not only with the politicians,” and commented that the president of the CNE, Juan Pablo Pozo, “must meet with the Ecuadorian people and explain to them the delay of more than 36 hours” in the delivery of the total results.
