Guillermo Lasso: the US and Ecuador will once again be allies

Guillermo Lasso affirmed that he will work together to achieve the progress and well-being of the country.

This Tuesday, April 13, Julie Chung, Acting Undersecretary of the Office of Western Hemisphere Affairs of the US Department of State, referred to the victory of Guillermo Lasso in the elections of last Sunday, April 11. 

Following the announcement by the Interim Secretary, President-elect Guillermo Lasso responded: 

La postura llegó tras la publicación en las cuentas oficiales de la Embajada de Estados Unidos en Ecuador. En la misma, el embajador Mike Fitzpatrick afirmó que había conversado telefónicamente con el presidente electo Guillermo Lasso “para felicitarlo por su triunfo en la jornada cívica de ayer. Esperamos trabajar con su gobierno en nuestros objetivos en común y en beneficio de Estados Unidos y de Ecuador a partir del 24 de Mayo”.
