Handbook for supermarkets will be effective since November
The new handbook for Good Market Practices, issued by the Superintendency of Control of Market Power (SCPM for its Spanish acronym) will take effect from November to improve the relations between supermarkets and suppliers.
This regulation seeks to make clear the rules for both. Furthermore, it is intended thereby the opening space for micro, small and medium enterprises.
The document sets limits on the amounts that supermarkets should pay to their suppliers, according to the billing of the immediate prior year,
The handbook also states that the suppliers participation with turnover of up to $ 250,000, will always provide a no less value than 15% of the total purchases of the previous month.
According to the SCPM, the measure would also seek to encourage suppliers to participate, either as producers or suppliers.
