This Friday a car bomb exploded in Aden, the target was the commander of a counterterrorism unit of Yemen, the attack also left two children wounded. Major General Ali Al-Hajji led a battalion of Central Security Forces troops, which includes counterterrorism units.
According to the official report the explosive was planted in Al-Hajji’s car and exploded while the vehicle travelled near the 22 May Soccer Stadium. Two children that were standing near the car when it exploded, ages 5 and 14 were seriously injured by the blast.
The area has been sealed off for an investigation, there are still no suspects named, but the terrorist groups of Al Qaeda and Ansar Al-Sharia have performed attacks against the security forces in Aden during the last few months. (AV)
