Hotel in Santa Elena Gets New Owner

The former hotel ‘Punta Centinela’ in Santa Elena, Ecuador, is now part of the international resort network Royal DeCameron which has 40 facilities around the world.
These two buildings have the capacity of 197 rooms near the pool area along with a sauna, spa and a gymnasium. This is the second complex that DeCameron has in the country, their first hotel is in Mompiche, which opened two years ago with an initial investment of $40 million. The Santa Elena hotel cost a total amount of $14 millions.
The National Financial Corporation (CFN for its Spanish acronym) sold Punta Centinela hotel in a public bid on August 1 of 2011, the only buyer was Royal DeCameron who covered the $4,2 million debt that the hotel had. Now DeCameron has to pay the debt in a 15 year period with a mortgage of 8%. (AV)
