How to report and find missing people
Posted On 24 Apr 2016
Efforts to find those still missing in areas devastated by the earthquake of April 16, multiply through different ways.
On the one hand, the National Office for Crimes Against Life, Violent Deaths, disappearances, Extortion and Kidnapping (Dinased) physically maintains several information points toreceive reports of people disappeared in the earthquake.
Aid stations are in Pedernales (Central Stadium), Manta (cemetery Garden of Eden), Jama (UPC Jama), Canoa (near the Central Park), Portoviejo (UVC), Chamanga (main park next to the UPC), Bahia de Caraquez (rear of the Paseo Shopping building) and other UVC nationwide.
The Attorney General’s Office also activated three virtual paths with the same intention. Use the hashtag # DesaparecidosTFiscalía (#MissingTFAttorney) to search for people lost in the quake. The report has to be done by email: desaparecidosterremoto@ fiscalia.gob.ec. You can also go to the website: http://goo.gl/9oBlxdand fill out a form with your name, ID number, name of the missing person, information and a photo.
Google also activated the people locator: http://google.org/
