Hundreds of Police Members undergo Psychological and Polygraph Tests
Before being submitted to the polygraph, about 280 Pichincha Judicial Police members were assessed by psychological testing yesterday to restore public confidence in the police action. For this test they were divided in four groups planned by the Human Resource Department of the Judicial Police.
At 08:00 the first group of 35 police members began the test. For an hour and a half, police members answered a questionnaire of more than 100 questions, which mainly sought to set their psychological reality, while other questions inquired them about personal injury, family issues, economic, and labor issues.
In this test, there was a main question, which determines if the officer will be subjected or not the polygraph test. If the officer accepts, he must sign a document confirming his wish to apply the evaluation form with the polygraph, which consists of four axes, which are not yet known. Several police officers explained that they do not know what mechanism will be applied in case they decide not to sign the document.
